About us

Lee Bank is a truly unique financial institution amidst the multitude of options that are available in today’s market place. Located in Lee, Massachusetts in the heart of the Berkshires, Lee Bank was founded in 1852 as Lee Savings Bank. While we’ve adapted with the demands of the modern era along the way, we’ve never strayed from our roots and core philosophy which is to remain steadfastly focused on our customers and communities and to deliver banking services that are simple, direct and personal. “Local” is perhaps an overused term these days but we exemplify its very essence every day by how we make decisions, who we hire and where we focus our efforts. Member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Depositors Insurance Fund (DIF). Equal Housing Lender.

Today begins the six-week Massachusetts Bankers Association ahealthyme® Spring step challenge. Last year we placed 10th against 52 other banks across Massachusetts. Let’s see if we can step-up to the challenge AND maybe we’ll surpass 10th place this year! Here’s a few pictures from last year’s challenge to spark some motivation! Happy stepping, everyone!

Back in 2002, Lee Bank expanded its Great Barrington office (at 279 Main Street) with additional consumer services such as on-site tellers and full time commercial-lending services, in addition to its mortgage-lending services. Expanding in Great Barrington gave us the opportunity to re-affirm our commitment in Southern Berkshires and now, with the expansion of the Pittsfield office (at 180 South Street), we can show our commitment to our community across the Berkshires.   #TBT #InTheBerkshires #StrongBranchesDeepRoots

It wasn't our typical day-to-day operations, but it was surely a great way to spend an afternoon. Thank you Berkshire United Way and Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity for including us in Volunteer Month! #HereForGood #InTheBerkshires

Our friends at Lee Bank kicked off our #HereForGood Volunteer Month by turning out in full force to start work on Focus is Our Children's new space at First Church of Christ in Pittsfield. Bank employees and board members got right to work cleaning and painting. Other groups of volunteers will help finish this project. Thank you to Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity for partnering in this effort. Manny and Vannessa Slaughter founded Focus is our Children to provide outreach programs like dance, sports, literacy, health education, and mentoring for children and families in the Berkshires. We proudly support this organization. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eU3vyBQu

Brianna Gagnon from our Lee Teller Line hosted a “March Macaroni Madness” to rally all of our employees together – across all of our branches – to collectively donate boxes of pasta. Over the past month, we collected over 100 boxes to help support the Lee Food Pantry! Thank you, Brianna for organizing this!

A mission that stands strong even throughout the years. #HereforGood For decades, Lee Bank has been eager to lend a helping hand with the challenges Berkshire United Way has been supporting for the past ✨100 years✨ in our community. Keeping deep roots in the Berkshires is a priority for Lee Bank and their mission of keeping our community strong, is something that we want to reinforce year after year. #InTheBerkshires “I [David Bruce, former President of Lee Bank] am proud to say the community rose to the occasion of helping to meet the needs of our community. We pulled together as a team to help meet the challenges faced right here in Berkshire County. An event as big as this takes many hands to complete.” #TBT

This afternoon we attended a luncheon at Crissey Farm for the Southern Berkshire Chamber’s second annual Women in Leadership Awards. Our very own, Susie Brown was nominated and received the Hidden Gem Award. We are grateful for the 44 years Susie has dedicated to Lee Bank. If you ask any Lee Bank employee, “Who at the Bank best embodies the culture and values of the organization?” without a doubt, you will hear the name “Susie Brown” mentioned over and over. Susie began working at Lee Bank as a teller in 1980 and has been instrumental in defining and supporting the Bank’s culture for over four decades. Lee Bank has been fortunate to have Susie’s energy, enthusiasm, and support for 44 years and her undying commitment to the Bank’s brand and moreover to each individual employee’s goals, career journeys, and ultimately their personal well-being. Susie is quite literally the heart and soul of the bank; the backbone of the company’s culture, and the golden standard when it comes to putting employees first. "Lee Bank has always been a great place to work, but it’s the culture and most importantly, it’s the people who have never made me look elsewhere." - Susie Brown Congratulations to all the nominees and winners! #InternationalWomensDay #WomeninLeadership
